Groups for Adults with ADD/ADHD:
A Six Week Class and Support Group Offered in Seattle and via Phone for Distance Learners
Class Description:
This class is for adults who know they have ADD/ADHD or think they might.
If you could find a way to:
- Reduce stress
- Strengthen your concentration
- Recognize when you are distracted and bring your attention back
- Learn to pause before reacting
- Gain insight into difficult thoughts and emotions
- Relax your body and mind
- Develop more self-compassion and acceptance
- Be more present and engaged in life

During the six weeks, you will be introduced to:
- Meditations appropriate for people with attention and other ADD/ADHD related challenges.
- Simple Qigong exercises. (Qigong is a healing, moving meditation from traditional Chinese medicine. Please see my blog post about qigong to learn more about how it helps people with ADD/ADHD.
- Approaches using mindful awareness to gain more control over ADD/ADHD symptoms.
- A range of methods to reduce stress.
- Ways to recognize and restructure unhelpful thinking patterns that are holding you back.
- Education about the brain wiring of ADD/ADHD – the strengths and challenges.
- A supportive, safe environment in which to share experiences, ideas, and feelings with others who understand.

Class Details:
Methods: In-person and distance learning over the phone.
Where: In-person classes are in the Wedgwood area of northeast Seattle. Distance learning is wherever you find it convenient to relax and talk over the phone. You just need a room that is private, quiet, and large enough to walk five or six steps. (And you will also need a headset or speaker phone that allows you to listen and participate hands-free.)
When: Classes in Seattle are Thursdays evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Distance learning classes are Wednesday mornings from 10:30 – noon Pacific Time. Please contact me for information about when the next classes will be starting. We meet for an hour and a half, once a week for six weeks.
Class size: Maximum of 8.
