As well as helping individuals who have ADD/ADHD, I have a special
interest in working with their husbands, wives, girlfriends, and
boyfriends. That’s because I bring to my practice many years of living
with and loving a husband with attention deficit disorder.People with ADD are often
creative, gifted, generous, and warm. Those positive traits attract
others to them, and can make for a loving and exciting relationship.
The difficult traits, however, can cause hurt, frustration and stress
in those who love them. Some of this stress could be alleviated if
non-ADD partners had the opportunity to get support, information, and
validation for their experiences. They would also benefit from
learning “ADD specific” relationship and self-care skills.
Unfortunately, there are few resources and services available to them.
To meet the needs of non-ADD spouses and partners, I provide the
following products and services:
- Free quarterly ADD
newsletter to give you ideas, support, tips, and
encouragement.
- The Audio: Help! My Partner Has ADD!! You can
download this supportive, informative
recording from the non-ADD perspective - and listen to it whenever
the time is right.
- The first book written specifically for non-ADD partners:
Living With ADD When You’re Not the One Who has It: A Self-Care
Workbook for Partners. Take a look at the
Table of Contents, Introduction
and What Readers are Saying.
If it sounds interesting, you can find it at our
Bookstore.
- Free monthly telephone support groups for non-ADD
partners ONLY. The purpose is to provide a safe place where you can
vent, offer support, learn new strategies, and connect with others
who may share your experiences. Meetings are held on the fourth
Wednesday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time. If
you are interested in joining this group, please
contact me to schedule a
brief telephone consultation. At that time, you will be given the
phone number and access code. Support groups will be free until
January – except for long distance charges. Check out
www.onesuite.com for 2.5 cents
a minute long distance.
